We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the Mishkat al-Huda app collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Data we collect

• Account: name, email, and a hashed password when you create an account.
• Usage: memorization (Hifz) progress, bookmarks, reading position, and settings — to save your progress.
• Location: used only to compute prayer times and qibla direction on your device; not stored on our servers.
• Audio recordings: if you record your recitation for the Hifz feature, it is stored to your account and you can delete it.
• Device identifier: an anonymous per-device id to keep guest data before you sign in.
• Telegram (optional): if you link your account to the bot for reminders.

How we use it

• To provide app features (Qur’an, Adhkar, Hifz, prayer times) and save your progress.
• To send email verification, password reset, and reminders you opt into.
• We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Service providers

• Brevo — transactional email (verification / reset).
• Cloudflare — network security and performance.
• Telegram — only if you choose to link the bot.

Your data is hosted on our own servers and is not shared with third parties for marketing.

Your rights & account deletion

You can edit your data in the app, permanently delete your account and all of its data, or request deletion of only specific data while keeping your account, from the Delete account & data page.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed (bcrypt), and access is restricted. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

Children

The app is for a general audience for Islamic educational purposes and is not specifically directed at children under 13.
